The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I learned so much while reading this book. I did know about the great migration before reading this book, but I didn’t really know a lot about it. I really enjoyed how it followed three people throughout their entire lives. We learn what their life was like in the south, and why they choose to leave the south for Chicago, New York, and Oakland/LA.

The book then has other stories that are intertwined throughout to give us even more perspective. It also has facts and statistics about the migration as well, which I thought was fascinating. The only down side is that the book does jump around a lot from person to person and year to year and it can get confusing. Eventually, once I learned who the people were it became easier, but I still struggled at times.

Definitely recommend and I plan on reading her book, Caste.
