The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have read all of Meissner’s historical fiction and I have enjoyed them all, but I do miss the past/present storylines that she started with. I always enjoyed that concept, but totally get author’s want to change or grow with their writing. So, even though the last few books she has written have been only set in the past I’ve still enjoyed them. This book was super interesting and I love that Meissner tends to write about historical events that aren’t well known or haven’t been written about a lot.

I didn’t know a lot about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and was interested to learn about it. My only complaint is I felt like the book didn’t cover it enough, but it was still enjoyable. I liked the mystery element to the book, and I hadn’t expected it. I also enjoyed how everything was tied up by the end of the book, so I wasn’t left wondering about anything. Overall, I would recommend this book and I think it’s a good blend of mystery and historical fiction.
