The Grace Year by Kim Liggett
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really did not know what to expect when I picked this book up to read. I thought it sounded interesting even though it is not the type of book I would normally read. Well, I am so glad I picked it up because I was hooked from the first page and could not put this book down!

I found the idea of women being banished for a year to get rid of their “magic” a new concept. Tierney was a strong female character that readers could relate to while reading. The story building in the book was great. I am not sure what the time period is supposed to be or if the book is even set in America, but I would love to revisit this world and learn more about it. What is outside the county? Is every place this backwards when it comes to girls?

The twist at the end was so good that I did not see it coming. The ending was also ambiguous so you are not exactly sure what happened to Tiernay at the end of the book. To my knowledge, this is a stand-alone book, but I need more! What happens when Tierney’s sisters enter their Grace Year? Will it continue like it always has? I need answers!
