The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dawn Edelstein is in a near death experience that makes her question her life choices. She has a husband and a daughter, but they are not who she thinks of as the plane is crashing. She thinks of Wyatt… In another lifetime Dawn was studying to becoming an Egyptologist and with Wyatt. She is torn away from that dream when her mother gets sick and dies and must become her brothers’ guardian. Flash forward 15 years and Dawn want to know what happened to Wyatt. This begins her two way journey.

So, I actually love all the info on ancient Egypt since I am a history buff. I know a lot of people were turned off by that, but I enjoyed it. I don’t want to say a lot about the structure of the book because of spoilers, but I enjoyed the timeline aspect of the book, because it was so different. I would have preferred a concrete ending, but I get why there wasn’t one.

It is clear Picoult did a lot of research for this book, and I enjoyed it. Her characters came alive to me and I felt myself getting extremely invested in them and emotional when things happened to them. Overall, I enjoyed this book, but if you don’t like a book with a lot of subtext then this probably isn’t for you.
