The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Set in France during WWII, Eva works for the resistance creating forgeries to help get Jewish children and others to safety. Eva and her partner, Rémy keep all of the children names in a secret book in a code. When the book is taken by the Germans, Eva worries she will never see the book again to decode it and know what happened to the children.

I enjoyed this aspect of WWII historical fiction. We all know how important documents were and how having fake ones could save someone’s life, but I don’t think I’ve read a book where it is mostly about forgers and their processes in making these precious documents.

I would love a follow up or at least an epilogue to know what happens to Eva once she shares some of her secrets with her family and others. I would seriously love a sequel to this book that explores the children who were saved or something along those lines. Highly recommend if you like historical fiction with some romance sprinkled in.
