Sweet & Bitter Magic by Adrienne Tooley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was Tooley’s first book and came in March Owl Crate. I doubt I would have heard of it otherwise, so I am glad it was featured in their box. It has magic and of course the classic trope of enemies to lovers in it. While I don’t think it was a brand new idea, I thought it was a fresh take and approached magic differently than some other books.

The twist in the book did surprise me and I did not see it coming until basically right before it happened. I felt both of the main characters were written well. I also liked that the characters being lesbian wasn’t really talked about or a big deal made about it. It just felt normal and no one in this world questioned people’s choices and I love that! Hopefully, one day we can be like that here too 🤞🏻.

Overall, I would recommend this book if you like magic, lovers to enemies, or LGBTQ+ books. I didn’t even think about how I was reading it during Pride Month, it just worked out that way.
