Infinite Country by Patricia Engel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow! This book was so good. I only wish it had been longer. Following Mauro, Elena, and their children was very eye opening to see what immigrants go through to come to America. It was interesting to see how people change when they go from being a legal immigrant to an illegal immigrant and the fears that come along with that. It’s not something I had ever really thought about. How the people you go to for help in an emergency, like the police, can’t be called when you are illegal in America.

This book definitely reaffirmed my belief that immigration needs to be easier for people. Some people live in extremely dangerous countries and they just want to raise their family somewhere safe. Or they want their children’s lives to be better than theirs. I can’t imagine people leave their home countries to come here because their life was going so well in their country.

I would definitely recommend this book and I’m so glad I got it early from Book of the Month. I also just found out it is Reese’s Book Club pick for March. So, hopefully this means more people will get to experience this amazing book!
