I wonder if humans are the only living creatures that ever feel hollow inside- Colleen Hoover.
⚠️ Spoiler Alert! ⚠️
Regretting You is a story about grief, betrayal, love, friendship, misunderstandings and family. It is an absolute emotional roller coaster. The character are broken and flawed in so many ways.
A story full of emotion, tears, both a mother’s and a teenage daughter’s POV, with many difficult situations that may have you questioning their decisions, motives, and make you wonder how many more secrets are there in the past.
Clara is a frustrating character. Period
She is only a 16/17-year-old girl so being hot-tempered or childish is kinda understandable, but I just can’t stand the way how rude she was with her mom. She had prejudice against her, nagging her mother all the time. And it got me like ‘OMG! Can’t you just stop whining?’ It was really annoying, I thought of skipping her chapters. She made so many mistakes, and I kindof dislike her. 😤
Morgan. She had Clara when she was just 17/18. Sacrificied her career & life for her family. Only to know, all her life she was living a lie. Two most important people in her life betrayed her. Morgan is trying desperately to protect her daughter from truths that might destroy her too.
Colleen Hoover knows how to make you fall for these fictional characters as if they were real. Both Jonah and Miles are love. Gramps is the most adorable character in the book. ❤
The ending was so heartfelt and adorable. The last 20% of the book was the only time I felt emotional. I’ve read all of CoHo’s books, and at this point I know not to doubt her story telling skills.
All in all, Worth a read.
PS: WHY DIDN’T MORGAN READ THOSE LETTERS?!!!!
