Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One daughter is in NYC and one is in the Dominican Republic, but they have no clue each other exists. That is until their fathers’ plane crashes and he is killed. They have lived very different lives, but what will they do when they find out about each other?

This is the second book I’ve read by Acevedo and it did not disappoint. She has given me a love for free verse novels that I never thought would happen. Clap When You Land is written so beautifully and I loved all of the characters even with all of their flaws. The sisters were people I would love to be friends with; they were so relatable and I could feel their emotions.

I highly recommend this book, even if you don’t think you’d like a book written in verse. I think this book could make people open their eyes to a genre they had ignored before. I am now going to find out what other books Acevedo has written and buy them too!
