Book 110
People Like Her by Ellery Lloyd
⭐️⭐️💫

Emmy Jackson is an “instamum” and shares her life with her millions of followers. But Emmy’s life isn’t what it appears to be. Everything is manufactured just so for the ultimate engagement with her fans. But being in the public eye can have its consequences. Especially if someone hates you and blames you for their unhappiness.

I really struggled getting into this book. It never really felt like it was building to anything until the very last chapter of the book and then blink and it was over. I just never really felt like I was on the “edge of my seat” with this book. The book also lacked a lot dialogue which made it drag on as well. Overall it was just kind of a bore.

I was really interested in the idea of someone on Instagram being stalked, and seeing the other side of the camera with an “instastar”. The idea just kind of felt flat and the characters were just awful people and I didn’t care what happened to them. Also, the book changed POV to the stalker without warning and at first I was confused. I thought it was Dan’s POV and couldn’t figured it out until I realized the antagonist’s POV was going to be in italics without a heading like Dan’s and Emmy’s POV.
